Camps & Clinics
MAVS Volleyball offers year-round training for players in the community.
MAVS coaches are excited and eager to coach kids at all levels of volleyball. We make it easy for beginners to participate at a level they are comfortable with and challenge those ready for the next level. Whatever your athlete's goals, we want to help them achieve those goals and provide the right environment for them to do so!

General summer camp information
Ages: Kindergarten - High School Age Divisions
Boys & Girls Camps Available!
Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or Elite for our camps
Beginner: No experience required (K-4th grade)
Intermediate: Previous camp or recreational league experience (3rd-8th grade)
Advanced: Competitive club experience required (4th-8th grade)
Elite: Premier club experience required (positional camps only)
Camp Structure:
All Summer Camps start on Monday and run through Thursday. Camps are 6-8 hours of training each week. Training is led by experienced MAVS Coaches and the player to coach ratio is small to ensure individualized instruction for our campers.
Locations:
Training is offered at both our MAVS KC (Lenexa) and MAVS 816 (Leawood) locations. Please see the schedule below for specific dates and times.

BEGINNER CAMPS
Mini MAVS
Learn early, learn right! Our energetic, youth coaches lead this introduction to volleyball and teaches players to have fun and love the game. Training focuses on the basic fundamentals of the game!

Lil' MAVS
Learn the game the right way. Introduction to the fundamentals of serving, passing, hitting, ball tracking and movement to the ball while having fun! Game play is introduced.

speciality camps
Coaching Clinic & Team Camp
Are you a coach wanting a little extra help this season? Look no further! This camp is a blend of 1 hour of small group, instruction to coaches, the remaining portion will be team practice on the court, with guidance from our MAVS Coaching Staff. This camp is perfect for newer coaches, or those looking for fresh ideas!
- For parents, coaches for recreational or CYO teams, or coaches new to the game!
- MUST register as a team with a coach, or as only a coach.
- Coaching and on court session led by MAVS Premier Coach & Blue Valley West HS Assistant Varsity Coach, Michelle Abshire.
- Assistant coaching by other MAVS Coaches with school and rec coaching experience.
- Handouts provided to coaches
- Learn how to run effective practice drills, volleyball verbiage & terminology, skills for parent communication and management.
- Coach only registration: $75
- Coach & Team registration: $400

2024 MAVS Fall Academy

Program Structure:
Weekday Training - 90 minute team practice with MAVS Coach. Practice plans developed by MAVS Technical Directors. Players will learn in a fast paced environment with current MAVS Coaches. The small group instruction allows coaches to provide consistent feedback based on a player's ability.
Saturday Training - 90 minute session that combines practice & play. Players learn offensive and defensive systems, game-strategy and apply these skills in a game-environment. Teams will then compete against another Fall Academy team in a guided scrimmage that focuses on the learning target of the week.

4 - 75 Minute Trainings: Plans are made and led by our top youth coaches at MAVS! Guaranteed to get your player excited about the game! Our coaches focus on athletic movement, fundamentals of volleyball and team building. We can't wait to see your player soon!

2024 MAVS Club Prep Academy
Club Prep Academy
Includes:
- 14 Trainings over 7 weeks!
- Practices and training led by experienced MAVS Coaches
- Team building exercises
- Fitness & conditioning drills
- Competitive matches
- Players MUST be on a club team for the 2024-2025 season (does not have to be a MAVS team!)
- September 10th - October 28th
Program Structure:
Tuesday Training - 90 minute team practice with MAVS Coach. Practice plans are designed to prepare club players for the upcoming season. Training will focus on technical skill development, high volume of reps, learning key verbiage & terminology, and more!
Saturday Training - 90 minute session that combines practice & play. Players learn offensive and defensive systems, game-strategy and apply these skills in a game-environment. Teams will then compete against another Club Prep Academy team in a scrimmage that focuses on the learning target of the week.
