Rachel Slaughter

Rachel grew up in Louisburg, KS playing all the sports. She played volleyball and track collegiately at Park University. She transitioned quickly into coaching and has continued for more than 25 years. She has coached every age/level from 10s thru JV in high school, but her heart has always been with the “littles” (10U-12U). Rachel focuses on instilling a love for the game early on so that it can help build a solid foundation of teamwork, skills, and volleyball IQ that will serve the players for years to come. Rachel started coaching at MAVS in 2011 and has gained mentors, friends, and family in that time. Volleyball is a family affair for the Slaughters. Her husband Tom is also a coach and their 3 oldest (Ali, Jack, Bekah) play(ed). She’s still waiting to see if the other 2 (William, Millie) decide to try the sport out!
