Henry Lee

Technical Director
Henry is originally from San Francisco, CA, and has coached volleyball for over 15 years across the club, high school, and collegiate levels. He has also coached within the USAV High Performance pipeline and at various collegiate camps / clinics.
During his 25+ years as an OH, setter, and libero, Henry has not only gained extensive knowledge on how to teach and train all skills but has also developed the communication skills and emotional intelligence to train athletes holistically. He finds that the most rewarding part of being entrusted with the development of young adults is helping them grow not only as volleyball players, but also as people.
In his 3 years with MAVS, Henry has coached both girls’ and boys’ teams. In his first season, Henry led his 16-1 girls’ team to a 3rd place finish in the Open division at the 2021 GJNC. The following year, his 15 Red boys’ team finished in 3rd place in the Open division at the 2022 BJNC. In the most recent season, Henry’s 16 Red boys’ team won the 2023 BJNC National Championship in the Open division while his 14 Red boys’ team finished 2nd in the USA division.
After his first season at MAVS, he was offered the position of Technical Director for MAVS KC. As the Technical Director, Henry is responsible for player and coach development. When Henry isn’t coaching, he is a foodie who enjoys traveling, theatre, baking, staying up to date on all the latest films and TV shows, and pretending to be other people as an actor. He is currently in the process of earning a pastry / baking certificate.
