Genna grew up up in the KC area playing club volleyball starting at the age of 9 all the way through 18. She played at Blue Springs South High School where she received All-Conference, All- District and All-State honors her junior and senior year, as well as All-American honors her senior year. Genna ended her club volleyball career at KC Power where her team won the 18 Open National Championship. Genna continued her volleyball career at Washburn University in Topeka. She played there for 5 years (COVID), was a 4x All-Conference, 2x All-Central Region, 2019 MIAA Conference Player of the Year, 2x All-American, 2x Central Region All Tournament Team, and a 2x National Championship All Tournament Team selection. Genna is entering her 8th season of coaching club volleyball. She has coached ages 11-18, has won 3 national qualifiers, and has coached 1 team to a National Championship. Genna enjoys sharing her love of the game with young athletes and helping them grow as both players and people. When Genna is not in the gym, she is in the classroom working with Special Education or hanging out with her husband and friends.
