Amy Benne

Amy Benne brings over two decades of coaching and leadership experience to the MAVS. Throughout her career, she has led teams to multiple National Qualifier championships and top-five finishes at the Girls Junior National Championships.

Amy’s impact extends beyond the court—she previously served on the Heart of America Volleyball Board of Directors and was the Club Director at Invasion Volleyball. In 2019, she helped launch MAVS 816, expanding the club’s reach and strengthening its presence in the Kansas City area.

From 2019 to 2021, Amy lived abroad in Paris, France, where she continued her volleyball journey by participating with AS Sartrou Volley in Sartrouville, Île-de-France. Upon returning to Kansas City, she stepped into the role of Managing Director at MAVS Volleyball, overseeing all four branches of the organization.

After a brief break from coaching, Amy returned to the sidelines in 2022, where she found renewed passion working with younger age divisions. She also served as the Interim Boys Director for MAVS during the 2024–2025 club season, further showcasing her versatility and leadership.

Amy lives in Lee’s Summit, MO with her husband John and their two daughters, Madilynn and Leighton—both proud MAVS athletes. Their household includes a lively crew of four dogs and two cats, including Maurice, who’s a regular at the gym. Be sure to say “hi” when you see him!
